Some information about Dennys:

Dennys began his image-gathering career first as a wedding videographer where he won numerous international awards for his filmic style before moving over to shorts then features. After receiving an ACS award for an Australian independent film he was hired as cinematographer on one of the first large budget HD features shot in Bollywood “Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi”. Yes with all the singing and dancing!

In 2003 Dennys became enamored photography. Having no formal training in stills he developed a raw, shoot-from-the-hip experimental style that quickly caught the attention of various luminaries in both the music and film industry.

Since then his passion for stills has taken Dennys from Outback Australia to most of Southeast Asia and the Americas and has been featured either in or on the cover of publications from local newspapers to the likes of Rolling Stone the world over.

In 2005 barely 2 years after picking up his first digital SLR Dennys was approached by Warner Bros. and commissioned to do an exclusive shoot with Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe. These images were of great importance as they were to show his coming of age to the world and were taken on the eve of his 16th birthday.

Until this point very few images of Dan looking like anything but Harry Potter existed so on their release the shots caught the world by storm.

They showed Dan as the versatile and amazingly handsome young man that he is. Since then Dennys has carried out further shoots of Dan for the 2007 release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as well as his stunning Australian film, The December Boys.

Though Dennys has worked with many amazing actors ranging from features such as the Matrix to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy his greatest joy came when he recently visited Vancouver. There he had the opportunity to photograph a group of actors and filmmakers that he has admired and respected for many years. This occurred during the final production of the incredible and groundbreaking television series Battlestar Galactica.

Dennys loves to photograph people and tends to shun studio situations for his portraiture in preference for nature, architecture and natural light. The bond that comes between photographer and subject is stifled by the artifice of the studio and there can be no journey in a box with black walls.
